Technology

Single Cell Analysis Platforms

Experts in both fluorescence and mass cytometry, we can help you select the best platform for your studies. Whether you want to analyze a few targets or dozens of targets per cell, we can design, optimize, and build complex staining panels.

Measuring biological responses by flow cytometry presents enormous opportunity to evaluate compound activity and cellular responses across different cell types in highly relevant human primary cells. Utilizing whole blood, purified PBMCs, or diseased samples, these mixed populations can be interrogated in detail for their responses to small molecules, antibody therapeutics, cytokines, growth factors, and antigen stimulation.  Whether the subject is patient samples or medium throughput compound characterization, the ability to monitor multiple response markers across a range of cell subsets makes flow cytometry an ideal solution.  Cytorum can help you design the most efficient and robust path forward in implementing flow cytometry across a range of applications.

Fluorescence Flow Cytometry

The gold standard of single cell analysis, fluorescence flow cytometry is the most widely used platform for immunological analysis. Take advantage of our expertise in solving the most complex flow assays and optimizing for signal-to-noise, reproducibility and quantitation.
Fluorescence panels: 10-18 parameters
Acquire millions of cell for rare subsets or large sample sets
Leverage published staining panels or design your own
Identify the best antibody clones and fluorophores for your targets
Custom conjugate unique reagents or therapeutic antibodies

Mass Cytometry

With its ability to analyze over 40 parameters per single cell, mass cytometry (CyTOF) can streamline sample analysis by combining 3 or 4 staining panels into one. Due to minimal overlap between channels, mass cytometry enables more rapid development of 40 parameter staining panels than spectral cytometry.
CyTOF panels: ~40 parameters including barcoding, viability
Our experience conjugating antibodies for CyTOF lets you design the optimal staining panel
Surface and intracellular targets (cytokines, phospho-proteins, histones)
ViSNE, t-SNE data visualization
Robotic sample processing for optimal cell recovery

Spectral Fluorescence Cytometry

The next generation of fluorescence flow cytometry, spectral analyzers measure 50 or more channels per cell, enabling novel combinations of new fluorophores to be used.
Spectral panels of 25-35 markers
Dive deeply into specific or rare cell subsets
Get all the information you can from a single panel
Combine new dyes with gold standard dyes for maximum signal to noise
Unprecedented insight into cell function and phenotype

Data Analysis

We understand the nuances of flow cytometry and single cell data. Leverage our expertise to turn your complex multi-parameter experiments into quantifiable and actionable data sets.
Optimized assays ensure optimal resolution and reproducibility.  Good experiments generate good data.
Evaluate data in ways that are appropriate for the questions being asked: means, medians, and percent positive
We routinely handle large flow cytometry data sets to define the most important metrics and uncover correlations that might be missed
Gating: optimize gating strategies to identify key cell subsets
Visualize CyTOF data with dimensionality reduction, t-SNE, viSNE, etc
